A diverse collection of some of the most popular songs performed by women in the latter part of the 20th century. Jumping from country pop like Faith Hill to moody alt-rock from Sarah McLachlan is a little jarring, but the songs are still strong in their own right. Highlights include the handful of diva anthems like "I'm Every Woman" by Chaka Khan, "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon, and En Vogue's "Free Your Mind." The mix is a bit uneven, bouncing between pop and techno, classic rock and soul, but the common bond of strong performances holds this CD together. ~ Zac Johnson, All Music Guide
