Funky Grooves contains ten tracks, all of which are definite disco or funk mega-hits. You can't argue with such a strong selection of music, but the fact that only half the space of the disc is utilized makes it a little problematic -- especially since there are dozens upon dozens of compilations that cover the same ground and are more generous. If you need a quick fix and have absolutely no other options, Funky Grooves should nonetheless fail to disappoint. Highlights include the Gap Band's "You Dropped a Bomb on Me," Parliament's "Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker)," Kool & the Gang's "Get Down on It," and Rose Royce's "Car Wash." ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
