The original soundtrack to 2000's second Mars-mission movie Red Planet features music by Emma Shapplin, William Orbit, and Sting, as well as excerpts from Graeme Revell's original score. Peter Gabriel's "The Tower That Ate People," a remix of the Police's "When the World Is Running Down (You Can't Go Wrong)," and Orbit's "Mantok Point" are some of the highlights of the pop songs collected on the album. Revell's score mixes pop, symphonic, and electronic elements to create an epic -- and occasionally bombastic -- feel, but it matches the tone of Red Planet perfectly. ~ Heather Phares , All Music Guide
