    All Music Guide Review

    Now, Vol. 47 isn't part of the American latecomer series, but rather the original British line; like the rest of the series, it's a double-disc survey of recent hits that draws from more than one label. Of course, it's oriented toward the British charts, which means that American listeners won't necessarily be as familiar with some of the acts -- All Saints, S Club 7, and Billie Piper were much more popular in the U.K., even though musically they're quite similar to the teen pop acts also dominating American charts. There are a couple of re-recordings, but the versions included are almost always the original hits; filled with dance-pop, ballads, and a tiny bit of rock, it's a fairly cohesive snapshot of British mainstream pop circa 2000. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
