The deal behind this curious three-song, 7" EP is that all three of the songs also appear on Stereolab's Aluminum Songs compilation. Two of the three songs have different titles than they have on Aluminum Songs, but as a little enclosed note from IPR takes pains to explain, these are not previously unreleased. They were titled differently because between the time IPR got the master tapes and the release of the disc, Stereolab decided to change the titles of two of the songs for the Aluminum Songs release. So why should you get this EP? Well, as it so often does with IPR product, it comes down to the packaging: a handsome, letter-pressed, fold-out sleeve, done as a limited edition of 2500, with an attached Stereolab stamp sheet (no joke), pressed on silver vinyl. And even if you're a Stereolab fan who doesn't want this collector's item, at least you'll know what it is from now on when you see it listed in discographies. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
