    All Music Guide Review

Preceding the Highs, Lows and Heavenly Blows album, Undo the Taboo introduced a new Spectrum lineup (Sonic and guitarist/backing singer Scott Riley, plus help from Pete "Bassman" Bain and Alf Hardy) along with four new songs. In keeping with its parent album, the EP emphasizes the deliberate, slow-and-stoned side of Sonic's work, perhaps a touch more song-oriented but definitely on its own particular trip. Besides the steady zone of the title track, building up to an increasingly tenser conclusion, three more songs are on offer. "In the Fullness of Time" verges more on Experimental Audio Research territory, a quiescent blend of drones, tones, and roils with extra sounds dipping in and out of the mix seemingly at random. "Turn the Tide (Sub-Aqua)" continues in this vein, with generally darker results, while "Go to Sleep" embraces a more direct if minimal song approach, a lullaby of sorts that lives up to its name as Sonic sings over a gentle strum. ~ Ned Raggett, All Music Guide
