    All Music Guide Review

A variety of odds and ends are tossed together in this sampler which inexcusably leaves off specific recording dates and personnel. Some of the selections (Neal Hefti's chart of "The Good Earth" for Woody Herman, Gerry Mulligan's "How High the Moon" for Gene Krupa and Oliver Nelson's "Trinkle Tinkle" for a Thelonious Monk big-band date) are common while some of the others (such as George Russell's "All About Rosie" and John Lewis's "Three Little Feelings") have otherwise been long out-of-print. Excellent music, dumb packaging. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
