Sorted, Snorted and Sported provides a sampler of the Creation roster circa 1991, when the label was a purveyor of shoegaze and rave. Dance tracks by Hynotone and Love Corporation haven't aged too well, but buried treasures like My Bloody Valentine's "Honey Power" and Slowdive's "Shine" hold up well alongside better known fare like Teenage Fanclub's "Starsign" and the Telescopes' "Flying." There was a depth in the Creation roster at this stage that wasn't realized by many at the time, and until someone documents the history of Creation via a lengthy box set or series of remastered compilations, used-bin fodder like this will have to do. Also, don't miss Swervedriver's "Laze it Up," a roaring B-side from one of their early singles that matches the best of their proper debut album. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
