The original soundtrack to the Elvis-themed Vegas casino heist film 3000 Miles to Graceland wastes the opportunity to either gather some of the King's greatest hits or some inspired covers of his work, such as Elvis Hitler's demented reworking of "Viva Las Vegas." Instead, it collects some very tired-sounding and out-of-place alt-metal and rap-rock, including Filter's "It's Gonna Kill Me," Nothingface's "Bleeder," Spineshank's "New Disease," and Bender's "Angeldust." BT's "Smartbomb" and Hardknox's "Come in Hard" are electronic variations on the soundtrack's theme of macho, in-your-face aggression, but A3's clever, reflective "Mansion on the Hill" and Crystal Method's "Vapor Trail" provide some relief from the album's mindless repetition. By the time Elvis himself finally shows up on the last track, "Such a Night," it's too little, too late; 3000 Miles to Graceland is too far gone to save. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
