Yvonne Elliman's "If I Can't Have You" gets A Year in the Life: 1978, Vol. 2 off to an energetic start, documenting the disco sound that was still hot that year. Bill Withers' "Lovely Day" also grooves without quite being a dance tune. This volume of the series also has its quieter moments, though, with Dan Hill's "Sometimes When We Touch" and Natalie Cole's "Our Love."
