    All Music Guide Review

    Now here's something very peculiar: some of the U.K.'s pop vocalists from the early years of this millennium covering classic Motown tunes from the '60s and '70s. Granted, the lineup for Motown Mania isn't exactly top-shelf by any stretch, but it's amusing to hear updated versions with overly glossed production values giving songs a fashionable makeover Mike Stock/Pete Waterman style (ironically, the formula for many of their chart-topping singles were inspired by Motown arrangements). It's not a necessity for anyone outside of (maybe) Motown collectors and spirited enthusiasts. And maybe those with an affinity for early-'90s pop music. ~ Rob Theakston, All Music Guide
