By all accounts, few could have made a safe wager on what Alan McGee's fledgling Poptones label was up to while making the likes of A Quiet Revolution. Born out of the head of former Undertones and That Petrol Emotion player Damian O'Neill, the elements suggested another variation of the Irish-flecked, spiked-punk invective that listeners had grown accustomed to even though, truthfully, what they got instead was often considerably more interesting. With a kaleidoscopic ear for scratchy, sequenced menace in the form of far-away bells, broken strings, bleeding Tricky loops -- not to mention a certain wryness and a penchant for Chris DeBurgh titles -- O'Neill culminates a disparate number of ingredients into a double-O, urban-paranoid ambient dance debut of quite distinguishable caliber. ~ Dean Carlson, All Music Guide
