    All Music Guide Review

    Even though it's basically another repackaging of the disco songs Rhino has the rights to, Instant Party: Disco Boogie is nevertheless a fun, funky collection. It's not an especially creative one, however: Chic's "Le Freak," Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing," Blondie's "Heart of Glass," and Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music" sound just as good here as they do on the many, many other dance compilations on which they've appeared. Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell," Silver Convention's "Fly, Robin, Fly," and KC & the Sunshine Band's "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty" are some of the other de rigueur disco hits included here. Instant Party: Disco Boogie may be predictable, but it's also consistent; most disco fans probably already have these songs, but a casual listener could certainly do worse than this collection. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
