All Music Guide Review

Compilations are getting more creative. This Chi-lites offering is hardly run of the mill; it contains some tracks missed on other discs. Long-time followers will buy this one to get "Price of Love" ('67), the first record by the Chi-lites that got any significant radio time outside of Chicago, and its follow-up, "Love Me" and "Love Is Gone," two sides that comprised a Revue Records' single (12/67) and released just before their successful stint on Brunswick Records. (It was hardly their first recording, though; they began waxing in 1964, and some members in 1961.) The rest are some good but poor selling A-sides and choice album cuts, i.e., "I'm Not a Gambler," on which you close your eyes and hear the Stylistics; "Don't Burn No Bridges" with Jackie Wilson; a short "The Devil Is Doing His Work"; and "You Don't Have to Go," the edited version. ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
