7 Angels 7 Plagues

Brutal in the vein of the Blood Brothers if they embraced metal more or Poison the Well if they didn't, the debut EP from 7 Angels 7 Plagues, Until the Day Breathes and the Shadows Flee, manages to be as intricate as it is abrasive, taking the heavy aspect of hardcore with metallic trappings and tempo-altering song structures. The recording was probably a year or so ahead of its time, a fact not lost on Uprising Records, who reissued the album with new artwork and a remastering job that made the cacophony clearer, although by that time the trendsetting band had already called it a day. ~ Brian O'Neill, All Music Guide
