One of the better LPs from the Chicago house scene, From the Mind of Lil' Louis makes the obvious inclusion of several past hits like "French Kiss" and "I Called U." Pushing the album into another sphere however, are the great collaborations which occur. Larry Heard's input on tracks like "Blackout," "Tuch Me" and "6 A.M." is stellar, and uptown Wax Trax! industrialists Die Warzau even appear on production and mixing. Despite several tracks which fail to reprise the sexy soul of "French Kiss," Lil' Louis' debut album is a triumph. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
