Lydia Lunch collaborated with a wide variety of musicians on Honeymoon in Red, including Clint Ruin (later known as Jim Foetus), Roland S. Howard and the Birthday Party. The result isn't that much different from the standard Lunch album, but it has a stronger collection of songs than her average album, and the Birthday Party captures the sound of urban life imploding, which is the sound Lunch is always striving to achieve. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
