All Music Guide Review
Mesa World of Music gathers a diverse collection of songs spanning the globe, from reggae stars Black Uhuru's "Questions" to the African-inflected jazz of Rabih Abou-Khalil's "Rabou-Abou-Kabou." Much of the album focuses on world fusion, and Exchange's "Beyond Reach," Rick Braun's "Corazon de Fuego," Al Di Meola's "Parranda," and Strunz & Farah's "Jaguar" are all fine songs from some of the genre's quintessential artists. Le Mystere De Voix Bulgares' haunting "Bulgarian Rhapsody" and the Afro-pop of Kotoja's "Money Wahala" are among the other highlights from this somewhat scattered but entertaining collection, which provides a decent overview of global jazz and pop, even if it doesn't dig too deeply into any one style. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
