Lyrics from The Meteor Man
All Music Guide Review
This soundtrack features some industry veterans in Howard Hewett, Keith Washington and Shanice, but the material does not fit the bill. While some of the songs seem faddish, the ones with a more appealing disposition don't have that knockout hook or verse pattern. However, rapper Ahmad does give a flashy urban performance on "Who Can?" His vocal tone is calm yet commanding as he exploits the lyric over a hip-hop beat. In addition, Frank McComb's inspirational number "Somebody Cares for You" glistens with an engaging hook line and bridge. The featured releases were Shanice's "It's for You" and Lisa Taylor's "Don't Waste My Time." Respectively, they peaked at #14 after 20 weeks and #94 after two weeks on the Billboard R&B charts. Shanice's sprightly lyrical delivery is supported by a kicking bassline and pulsating drum pattern; it was the only single to make any noise on or off the charts. ~ Craig Lytle, All Music Guide
