    All Music Guide Review

    Garnet Mimms' debut album, Cry Baby and 11 Other Hits, was a well-above-average effort for soul LPs of the era. Besides the title smash, it featured solid material that married Mimms' gospel feel with uptown New York soul production; "Anytime You Want Me," "Wanting You," and "Baby Don't You Weep" were some of his finest songs. It's been reissued in its entirety, along with 14 other cuts, on the British CD Cry Baby/Warm and Soulful; most of the songs are on the domestic compilation The Best of Garnet Mimms. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
