Steve Nardella

Well over a decade after he released his first album, the Detroit roots-rocker Steve Nardella recorded his second album, Daddy Rollin' Stone, for the fledgling Ann Arbor label Schoolkids Records. During that decade, Nardella kept busy, supporting a number of visiting bluesmen and playing many gigs on his own. That hard work paid off big time on Daddy Rollin' Stone. While the record doesn't quite capture the energy of Nardella's live shows, it nevertheless functions as a good showcase for his talents, proving that he's a consummate roots-rocker, capable of playing rockabilly and blues with equal flair. His voice isn't distinctive, but his guitar and passion are, and that's why Daddy Rollin' Stone is a modest triumph. ~ Thom Owens, Rovi
