Pop Classics of the '60s gathers some of Columbia's biggest hits from that decade, chief among them the Byrds' "Mr. Tambourine Man," Blood, Sweat & Tears' "You've Made Me So Very Happy" and Gary Puckett's "Young Girl." The collection also features both of the Cyrkle's chamber pop singles, "Turn Down Day" and "Red Rubber Ball," as well as Spiral Starecase's similarly sunny "More Today Than Yesterday." O.C. Smith's "Little Green Apples" and Tony Bennett's "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" sound more than a little incongruous next to tracks like Paul Revere & the Raiders' "Just Like Me" and the Statler Brothers' "Flowers on the Wall," although Lenny Welch's "Since I Fell for You" is a nice mix of the pure pop and rock songs that this collection offers. While this isn't an especially focused or distinctive collection, Pop Classics of the '60s is still pretty enjoyable. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
