Along with his work in Rabbit, this is an album largely of genealogical interest to Yes fans; while the music itself is not too compelling, in it one can hear the incipient elements of Rabin's later contributions to the band. The style here straddles Van Halen hammer-ons and Tom Scholz arena guitar on opening cut "Getting to Know You Better" with McCartney-esque keyboard sentimentality in "Painted Picture" and "Finding Me a Way." Rabin is clearly a capable musician -- he plays all the instruments except for the drums, and multitracks the vocal harmonies that crop up in the choruses. But Yes was always a band where fine soloists still managed to be more than the sum of their parts, and this well-executed but lightweight material is typical of that dynamic. ~ Paul Collins, All Music Guide
