Eugene Record's debut solo album. The ex-Chi-lites' lead singer and songwriter/producer, finally freed from an engulfing Brunswick Records contract, takes it easy on the best of his three solo platters for Warner Bros. Records. Record sings in a relaxed, loving mode on some lovely tracks that didn't quite make it. Of the even set, "Laying Beside You," "Overdose of Love," and "Putting It Down," with Barbara Acklin on backing vocals, are the most memorable. ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
