    All Music Guide Review

One of the few soundtracks the Residents wrote music for that wasn't their own project. Anyway, this Bruce R. Cook film is probably better known for its music than for the film itself. Apart from adapting many pieces from The Commercial Album, there are two great songs here: "Hellno," a simple, melodic piece with a charming female vocal, and "Where Is She?" one minute of manic, piano-led paranoia that would reappear on the 13th Anniversary tour. The rest is atmospheric drones, effective for the suspense they conjure up, and the impressive use the group makes of simple, repetitive arrangements. A sampler of the soundtrack-only tracks made their way onto the CD of Whatever Happened to Vileness Fats. ~ Ted Mills, All Music Guide
