Rhythm Safari: The Best of World Music is a budget-priced, 11-track collection that concentrates on African music, but it does toss in some Mediterranean, Spanish and Indian music for good measure. It's a good sampler, especially since it is faithful to the PC tastes of collegiate worldbeat fans of the early '90s, containing numbers from such well-known artists as Johnny Clegg, Gipsy Kings, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Bhundu Boys and Youssou N'Dour. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
