    Recorded by famous sideman Joe Bushkin, this compilation of famous Scott Joplin ragtime piano music includes many of the compositions that earned him the time-tested title of King of the Ragtime. From the whimsical bounce of "The Entertainer" to the lilting sentiment of "Sun Flower Drag," Bushkin presents all of Joplin's most famed music. In addition to these old-time standards, however, are Bushkin's renditions of standards by Gershwin and Ellington, making the recording not so much a strict documentation of Joplin's music as much as a breezy, sentimental collection that places his music alongside that which it inspired years later. ~ Nate Cavalieri, All Music Guide
