    All Music Guide Review

Ashera is the project of gifted ambient composer Antonio Wright in collaboration with female vocalists Caroline Wilson and Adriana Korkasova, who, as an Australian trio, is one of the few exciting ambient groups making this music down under. Ashera's sound is uniquely consonant, as they blend beautifully flowing synth pads and deep resonant streams of timbral elegance to create some of the better ambient music out there, whether it's coming from Australia or the States. The work on Colour Glow is reminiscent of Steve Roach's early work, particularly with it's earthy, almost organic electronic sound. Another point that's really unique to Ashera's music, particularly with Colour Glow, is the very delicate and supremely subtle use of tension and release. There's a small bit of tension applied expertly to the music so that the recordings almost pull listeners in; actually, though, Colour Glow does pull listeners into the sonorously deep and mesmerizing landscape that Ashera creates. Ashera's work is gifted all the way around and definitely worthy of a listen. Colour Glow would be the recommendation as a starting point for Ashera's music. ~ Matt Borghi, All Music Guide
