All Music Guide Review

Jive released the promo-only Serpent Boy EP before the released of (Hed) Pe's self-titled debut full-length. The five-track disc contains the album version and a radio edit of "Serpent Boy," as well as remixes of two songs on the album a one B-side. The "Rock da Beat Mix" of "Serpent Boy" was remixed by Junkie XL (while the radio edit was done by Tom Lord-Alge), and Machine remix the other album track, "Darkie." The previously unreleased song, "Epilogue," is actually an 8-track demo. Overall an interesting (but inessential) EP for collectors because of the exclusive songs and versions. ~ JT Griffith, All Music Guide
