    All Music Guide Review

Rock of the 80's, Vol. 2 is a brief collection of synth pop and new wave classics. At only ten tracks it doesn't pretend to be a definitive statement of the decade, instead it is just a fairly random collection of artists. There are certainly some treasures here: Kim Carnes' "Bette Davis Eyes," Fun Boy Three's "Really Saying Something," Missing Persons' "Destination Unknown" and Was (Not Was)' "Walk the Dinosaur." There are also a couple of dogs in Sly Fox's "Let's Go All the Way" and Jellybean's "The Mexican." For a low-priced introduction to the new wave/synth pop and pop sound of the '80s you could do worse. With a little looking you could do better, however. [This same disc was reissued by CEMA Special Markets in 1995.] ~ Tim Sendra, All Music Guide
