Bearing the wry sleeve note "This song is relevant to the recent experiences of Halifax Town Football Club," this single features one of the Fall's oddest songs of the '90s, not least because of the creamy smooth female backing vocals on the chorus, which sound like they were lifted from a Chic record. The dub doppelganger "Chilinist" strings together a bunch of vaguely-related fragments with sound effects and instrumental passages that sound like they were dropped in from another song entirely. The closing variation, "Interlude/Chinilism," starts promisingly with an interesting keyboard solo, but this largely instrumental version is the longest and least interesting of the three. ~ Stewart Mason, All Music Guide
