    All Music Guide Review

MacLean's interaction with an enthusiastic crowd on this live offering mirrors the man's music perfectly. He can crack jokes in his Scottish lilt, and sometimes does, but what stands out are the impassioned intros to songs that positively exude enthusiasm. The way he delights in the audience participation during "Singing Land," with a childlike amazement as the throng harmonized with him, is endearing. Though he's been doing this for the better part of two decades, and some of his most enduring moments (especially "Caledonia") go back to the beginning, the folk artist never seems jaded and can communicate with his guitar in ways others need a voice for. ~ Brian O'Neill, All Music Guide
