This cassette-only release was actually a solo album by Sukpatch member Chris Heidman (aka Sanyo Courts), released under the abbreviated name Patch. A significant step up from early tapes and singles, Jeep Music, while still crudely recorded and assembled without thought for posterity, actually ranks with the finest releases from the Sukpatch camp. As on "Lite Hits," the vocals are high-pitched and girlish, and they come this time courtesy of the mysterious Pamela V., but Heidman's production adds some rhythmic heft to go with the layered voices and new wave basslines. The customary and occasionally irritating between-song quotes and interludes are here, but this time the quality of the songwriting is exceptional. Nearly every complete song is a winner, with sweet, memorable melodies, sturdy hip-hop drum loops, and appropriate instrumental accents. At least one track (none are titled) even verges on groundbreaking, as a raw fragment of an unidentified rapper is looped and set alongside slow and dreamy girl vocal harmonies. This odd juxtaposition sums up the Slabco ethos perfectly, as Patch transports the sounds of the street to a cozy suburban bedroom. ~ Mark Richardson, All Music Guide
