    All Music Guide Review

    More a collection of dance-pop than pure dance, Dance Essentials, Vol. 1 isn't quite essential but still features some fun, club-friendly singles, including Sarina Paris' sugary-sweet "Look at Us" and Underdog Project's similarly naïve-sounding "Summer Jam." Tracks by French Affair, Diana Fox, Becca, and Da Buzz are also perfect examples of giddy, youthful dance-pop; only Moloko's "Never Enough" and Voodoo's "Blood Is Pumpin'" bring an edge to the album. While it's not the most creative or eclectic sampler of club hits, Dance Essentials, Vol. 1 might appeal to fans of the frothier side of dance music. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
