    A two-disc set released in the U.K., '80s Soul Weekender includes 40 tracks, almost all of which are deathless classics. Funnily enough, some picks are actually from the '70s (Earth, Wind & Fire's "Boogie Wonderland," McFadden & Whitehead's "Ain't No Stopping Us Now") -- that's hardly a deal breaker, though, because the compilation is simply too solid. Some of the more obvious picks include Chic's "Good Times," D Train's "You're the One for Me," Rick James' "Superfreak," and the Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight"; less popular cuts that are just as notable include Positive Force's "We Got the Funk," Donald Byrd's "Love Has Come Around," Slave's "Just a Touch of Love," and Yarbrough & Peoples' "Don't Stop the Music." ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
