After signing to Stiff, the Rumour made a clear attempt to redefine themselves as a new wave band, incorporating quirky embellishments and more atmospheric keyboards. They're still a pub-rock band at heart, though, and the combination usually works quite well, at times making for some truly inspired moments like "Emotional Traffic," which sounds remarkably like a Nick Lowe song. ~ Chris Woodstra, All Music Guide
