    Hollywood Musicals: The American Musicals Anthology features a variety of popular songs from Hollywood musicals. There's a wealth of music on this triple-disc anthology -- everything from Al Jolson's "Toot, Toot, Tootsie Goodbye" and Fanny Brice's "My Man" to Frank Sinatra's "I Fall in Love Too Easily" and Judy Garland's "Trolley Song." Despite the dizzying amount of music here, most of the songs date from the same era, the golden age of Hollywood musicals. Therefore, without any latter-day inclusions from more contemporary musicals or revisionist musicals, much of the album sounds a bit repetitious. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
