Sticking to the Glasgow Underground credo for club-focused techno with warm vibes, tight productions, and plenty of good-time dance music, Milton Jackson's full-length debut is (admirably) short on previously released tracks, but long on finesse. The Bionic Boy begins with a few tracks of softer, moody techno, but soon slants out into intriguing territory. "Shock Me All Nite" moves with boom-crash percussion (is that a sample from "Everybody Wants to Rule the World"?) and stuttered vocal samples, while "I See You" has a '70s shine to it, complete with starburst synth. If there were any doubts before, the closer "Sunlight" removes them, sliding along with an earth-moving bassline and magisterial atmospherics. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
