    The EMI collection Sophisticated Gentlemen is a three-disc set that includes a fair selection of pop nuggets by the most elegant male vocalists of the pop era. It surveys nearly every one of the best -- Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, Mel Tormé, Fred Astaire, Chet Baker -- and nearly every one is represented by great material. There are exceptions to that rule, however, and in most cases it's an unknown yet serviceable contemporary stepping in for the more famous interpreter (as on "Strangers in the Night" by Gordon MacRae, "Magic Moments" by Ronnie Hilton, "My Way" by Malcolm Roberts, "Fly Me to the Moon" by Danny Roberts, and "The Story of My Life" by Michael Holliday). ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
