    All Music Guide Review

This collection, which offers up a selection of songs heard on National Public Radio's All Things Considered program, covers a pretty amazing range, from the Basque accordion music of Kepa Junkera to the jam band noodling of Palm Fabric Orchestra. The music is overwhelmingly organic and multicultural, and seems to nearly always be a little bit clever without being too innovative or challenging, all the better to appeal to NPR's core audience of well-educated middle-age professionals. Still, though, this is music that is not often found on commercial radio, and the collection gives exposure to artists who otherwise might not get much attention outside of critics' circles. ~ Stacia Proefrock, All Music Guide
