To their credit, no one has told Slave that it's pointless to keep making funk albums in the 1990s. They tried again to return to the charts with this album, which wasn't far removed from their early '70s glory production-wise. That was the problem; they really couldn't adjust to the hip-hop era, because samples, snippets, and multi-dubbed edits weren't their forte. While nothing here compared to their great cuts, it was decently done and occasionally sung with exuberance. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
