Titles don't come much clearer than 38 Brit Awards 2002 Hits -- there are 38 songs here, all from artists nominated for a Brit award in 2002. Therefore, it's a pretty nifty snapshot of the state of the Brit scene (which, of course, includes American singles that scaled the charts) in 2002 -- and, based on this, it's pretty damn good. Certainly, any listener could find something to quibble about with one or two of the songs -- it does span two discs and 38 songs, after all -- but there are a number of great singles here, like "Thank You," "Clint Eastwood," "Pyramid Song," "Weapon of Choice," "Digital Love," "Things Have Changed," "I'm Like a Bird," "Where's Your Head At," and Kylie Minogue's timeless "Can't Get You out of My Head." That's not just a lot of bang for your buck, but a collection that winds up being more entertaining than listening to the radio, even it is comprised of the same tunes that hit the airwaves. Nifty trick, that. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
