A three-disc mishmash of pop, rock, and metal from the '60s, '70s, '80s, and '90s, the German import Rock Hit Box does indeed feature many rock hits, including Motörhead's "Ace of Spades," Lou Reed's "Coney Island Baby," Everclear's "Santa Monica," and Deep Blue Something's "Breakfast at Tiffany's," as well as songs by Foreigner, Blind Melon, and Poison on the first disc alone. Not surprisingly, the collection often goes beyond eclecticism into confusion; if the set organized its contents by style or decade, it would be a much more listenable experience. The collection does feature some worthwhile hits, but it just may not be worth it for the average listener to sift through their rather random presentation. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
