Don't you just hate it when you have to hunt down expensive singles of your favorite rock band, just to acquire that hard to find non-album track? Canadian metallists Helix had a little mercy on their fans, and compiled their rarities on a single disc -- issuing B Sides (how about a little more imagination in titling the album, guys?) in 2002. Running through all eras of the band's career, you get quite a sampling of Helix's tough yet tuneful sound -- especially the Quiet Riot meets Spinal Tap "S-E-X-Rated." Also included is the party-hearty "Let the Good Times Roll," as well as the six-string shredding showcase "Jaws of the Tiger." While most casual admirers of Helix will probably want a "best-of" compilation or one of their stronger studio albums, diehards looking to leave no stone unturned should track down B Sides. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
