    All Music Guide Review

For some strange reason, Collectables decided to combine the fourth and fifth volumes of each decade-specific set of their Ultimate Jukebox Hits series. (The first, second, and third volumes are separate.) Ultimate Jukebox Hits of the '50s, Vols. 4 & 5 isn't much different from the preceding volumes, offering a mix of rock & roll, pop, and doo wop. Included here are the Everly Brothers' "Wake up Little Susie," Jerry Lee Lewis' "Great Balls of Fire," Dion & the Belmonts' "A Teenager in Love," the Jacks' "Why Don't You Write Me," Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes," and the Crests' "The Angels Listened In." There are dozens of similar compilations available -- this one is hardly the worst or the best. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
