All Music Guide Review
This 12-song compilation contains '70s hard rock and soft rock hits that the compilers feel make up a good road-trip disc. Some of the songs are actually about the road, like Deep Purple's "Highway Star" and the Doobie Brothers' "Rockin' Down the Highway"; some of them sound good while on the road, like Foghat's "Fool For the City" and Foreigner's "Hot Blooded"; and some, like Yes' "Roundabout," appear to have been picked out of a hat. If you are the kind of open-minded classic rock person who thinks a compilation that includes both Alice Cooper's snide "Under My Wheels" and Christopher Cross' goopy "Ride Like the Wind" sound good, this is the road-trip record for you ~ Tim Sendra, All Music Guide
