    All Music Guide Review

This 12-song collection rounds up some bona-fried boogie rock (Blackfoot's "Highway Song" and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Southern Women"), some country-rock (Little Texas' "God Blessed Texas"), a bit of good-ole boy raunch (the Georgia Satellites' "Keep Your Hands to Yourself"), and some blue-eyed soul (Tony Joe White's funky "Polk Salad Annie"). Oddly, it also includes "Smokin' in the Boys Room" by Brownsville Station. These guys were not from the south, unless southern Michigan counts. The title is a bit of a misnomer; they probably should have called it "(Mostly) Down in Dixie: Some Southern Rock and Some Other Southern Stuff," but the disc will sound good blasting out of car stereos and at tailgate parties. ~ Tim Sendra, All Music Guide
