All Music Guide Review
As the title says, this volume of Smooth Grooves is devoted to songs that sound good while slowly cruising in a car. This means it's a little bit livelier in sections than certain editions of Smooth Grooves --- you have Bobby Womack's funky "Woman's Gotta Have It," Malo's Latin grooves on "Suavecito," the bubbling "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers -- but that's what makes it such an entertaining, satisfying disc. Sure, it skips through the decades with ease, and some songs are better-known than others, but the quality of the featured songs is exceptionally high and the sequencing is sharp, resulting in a terrific listen and one of the best discs in the series. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
