    All Music Guide Review

With the exception of the Meters' "Cissy Strut," this is for the most part lesser-known '60s/'70s funk. But obscurity doesn't mean poor quality. This CD's treats include Cymande's "Bra," Lonnie Liston Smith's "Lean Meat," Pee Wee Ellis' "Moon Walk," and Curtis Mayfield's "You're So Good to Me." Other hard-to-find treasures include Baby Huey & the Baby Sitters' "Hard Times," Lightnin' Rod's "Sport," and Maceo Parker and All the King's Men's drivin' "Got to Getcha" -- not to mention Bobby Womack's plea to a resisting woman, "(If You Want My Love) Put Something Down on It." ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
