Billy Stewart sang more than pleading, anguished love ballads. He was a good crooner in the classic supper club/cabaret fashion, and that was the focus of this collection of jazz-based pop and pre-rock numbers done by Stewart at various points in the 1960s. The tour-de-force was "Summertime," a stuttering, rumbling improvisation with him stretching out in the middle and concluding with a flourish. This has been out-of-print for quite a while. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
